project description
A private five-bedroom villa in Delhi, designed around the arc as its singular architectural idea — carried without interruption from the street-facing facade through every interior threshold and into the detailing of each room. The arch here is not ornamental. It is structural to how the house is experienced: the entrance gate frames the arrival court in a wide curve; the double-height foyer is resolved by an arched soffit that draws the eye upward before releasing it to the staircase beyond; each bedroom is entered through an arched threshold scaled precisely to the room it announces. The house has one language. Five bedrooms speak it differently. The palette is warm and considered — ivory plaster, honed limestone floors, dark-stained timber joinery, and bronze hardware throughout. Lighting is layered: cove sources wash the curved ceiling planes from within, task lighting is concealed, and the ambient character of each room shifts independently from morning to evening. The villa was designed to feel entirely resolved — a house that knows exactly what it is.
